AIA Membership

  • AIA members have opportunities to take leadership roles in the industry, with access to industry leaders and key public officials, and form critical alliances with these individuals. Participation supports a member's firm’s business and marketing plans and gives them specialized expertise.
  • Members participate in AIA's many continuing education and professional development activities at a reduced rate and keep current on mandated courses and licensing requirements.
  • Through AIA networking sessions, meetings and educational activities, members keep up to date on issues relating to the industry and business, important trends, and current plans and projects that could mean business for them.
  • AIA member-owned firms have the opportunity to be part of firm profiles in print, on CDs and through the AIA website. AIA members provide their own information and potential clients use these documents to select their architect.
  • AIA Miami's enhanced marketing and public relations efforts during the past six years bring the profession and its people into focus, to the benefit of all.
  • AIA members can use the prestigious initials AIA after their names, indicating that they subscribe to the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • The chapter's strong record of mentoring, providing internships and educational opportunities to students and new architects provides members access to an outstanding pool of potential employees.
  • The Architecture Club of AIA Miami offers a year-round schedule of professional speakers, tours and discussions that are open to all members of AIA Miami.
  • The popular Celebrate Architecture activities, coordinated by AIA Miami every November, bring architects and the community together to explore mutual issues and interests. This series of speakers, tours, panel discussions, design competitions and other events spotlights architects and architecture each year.
  • AIA 150, the 150th anniversary of AIA nationwide in 2007, gave AIA Miami more opportunities to promote the profession and its local members in the news media and online. AIA Miami received a grant of $10,000 from AIA national to conduct design workshops for the Biscayne-Everglades Greenway, a bike and walking path and some blueways, canals, connecting our two national parks.
  • The aiamiami.com web page is open to all, of course, to promote the organization in the community. However, some of the sections of the web pages are open only to AIA members.
  • AIA Miami joins other Florida and national AIA chapters to have a strong voice in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., through our political action committees.
  • AIA Miami is the voice of the design, architecture and construction industry in South Florida.
  • AIA Miami will accept membership dues in one payment or four payments, whichever best suits your budget.l universities, allied professional organizations as well as cultural organizations in our continuous our public outreach goals.
